PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepping restriction type column load implement and an erection method of a column member for easily fitting a tenon into a mortise by applying body weight to the column member in work of manually erecting the column member and fitting the tenon formed at the lower end face of the column member, into the mortise opened in the upper face of a sleeper or a floor beam. SOLUTION: In manually erecting the column member and fitting the tenon formed at the lower end face of the column member, into the mortise opened in the upper face of the sleeper or floor beam, the lower end of the column member is relatively fitted into a rectangular bay part of the stepping restriction type column load implement, and opposed edge parts, facing the rectangular bay part, of the column engaging part are locked to a pair of faces which are a front face and a rear face of the column member, to project a stepping part to the lower end front face side of the column member. A carpenter puts the feet on the stepping part and applies the body weight to the column member to fit the tenon into the mortise to thereby erect the column member on the upper face of the sleeper or floor beam.
