PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing metal powder of a two component system in which there is a melting point difference of≥1,000°C between the two components and the melting point of the one metal is≤1,000°C. SOLUTION: The method of producing the metal powder uses a meting furnace of a melting/atomizing integral type provided with a pouring nozzle in the bottom of the melting furnace and set with a stopper for preventing the molten metal from the nozzle during melting, wherein the low melting point metal is added into the metal having the melting point difference of≥1,000°C between two component system metals and the melting point of the one metal of≤1,000°C at the time when the high melting point metal in the metal begins to melt, and the metals are melt alloyed. Thereby, the molten metal-holding time in the furnace is shortened and the molten metal leakage from the pouring nozzle is eliminated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
