PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burner superior in the noise and vibration reducing function, particularly, the low frequency vibration reducing function over a wide band reaching a high frequency area from a low frequency area, while facilitating miniaturization and manufacture. SOLUTION: This burner is an inverse combustion type burner A1 and has an air blowing fan 13 for advancing combustion gas generated by a burner 1 under the burner 1, a combustion gas flow passage 4 having a U-turn part 40 for upwardly U-turning the combustion gas advanced under the burner 1 and introducing the combustion gas passed through this U-turn part 40 to an exhaust port, and a sound absorbing material arranged in a bottom part of the U-turn part 40. The burner has a viscoelastic gel-like first sound absorbing material 6 and a non-gel-like second sound absorbing material 7 higher in heat resistance and a sound absorbing frequency than this first sound absorbing material 6 as the sound absorbing material, and these materials are laminated so that the second sound absorbing material 7 side becomes an upper layer than the first sound absorbing material 6.
