PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underground excavator having a very high reliability and capable of being controlled highly economically. SOLUTION: The underground wall excavator including a bearing shield 10 is provided with at least one cutter wheel 20 rotatably supported on the bearing shield 10. At least one seal member 42 is installed between the cutter wheel 20 and the shield 10.
