摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material suitable for use as an undercoat layer in a photoreceptor to extend the life of the photoreceptor through improvement in performance and an extended life of the undercoat layer. SOLUTION: An undercoat layer 14 is formed on a substrate 12, and an imaging layer 16 is formed on the undercoat layer 14. The supporting substrate 12 is, for example, a flexible substrate. The undercoat layer 14 is a layer comprising a single non-porous anodized aluminum layer that has an impedance of less than about 50 kΩor of from about 20 to about 50 kΩ. The single non-porous anodized aluminum layer can be formed by anodizing aluminum in an electrolyte solution comprising an organic acid in an amount of about 0.25 to about 5% (w/v) at about 2 to about 20°C under a voltage of about 5 to about 24 V. Instead of the single undercoat layer 14, a multi-layer undercoat layer containing a single non-porous anodized aluminum layer and one or more layers of additional layers as sub-layers may be formed.
