PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high-refractive-index plastic lens with no cloudiness by inhibiting diffusion of moisture into raw material when a plastic lens is produced using raw material easily affected by moisture, and to provide a plastic lens. SOLUTION: When a plastic lens is produced by polymerizing a polymerizable composition containing one or more aromatic polyisocyanate compounds or one or more alicyclic polyisocyanate compounds and a polythiol composition based on one or more polythiol compounds selected from the compounds represented by the formula: R-(SCH<SB>2</SB>SH)<SB>n</SB>(where R denotes an organic residue other than an aromatic ring, and n denotes an integer of≥1) and having two or more mercapto groups per molecule, preparation is carried out in a preparation atmosphere whose moisture content is reduced to≤5 g/m<SP>3</SP>. The preparation is also carried out under conditions satisfying 10°C≤T≤t+5°C and 5°C≤t≤35°C wherein T represents a preparation environmental temperature and t represents a temperature of the polymerizable composition.
