PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve braking operability by increasing a stepping force exerted on a floor mat. SOLUTION: The floor mat 1 is laid in the vicinity of a driver's seat of a vehicle. When the stepping force exerted on the floor mat 1 is increased, the coefficient of friction of the floor mat increases. Then the floor mat 1 is provided with a base material 3, a first beardlike member 5 and a second beardlike member 7. The first and second beardlike members are provided on the base material, and are extended in the upward direction of the vehicle. Then the coefficient of friction of the first beardlike member 5 is larger than that of the second beardlike member 7, and the first beardlike member can be formed in a lower position than the second beardlike member in the vertical direction of the vehicle.
