PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a space saving type air conditioner for an automobile wherein a cross beam is used as a duct for blowing out feet, and heat insulation material need not to be internally provided. SOLUTION: The vehicle is equipped with an air introduction device 15 introducing the air in the air conditioning case, a temperature adjusting means 19 adjusting the air introduced by the air introduction device 15, and an air conditioner 3 for the automobile having each opening for blowing out the air temperature controlled by the temperature adjusting means 19 according to a desired blowout mode. The temperature-controlled air is blown from the air conditioning machine 3 for the automobile to a hollow cross beam 10 used for reinforcing the vehicle, and the flowing temperature-controlled air is blown out of the foot blowout port 12 formed on the cross beam 10.
