PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator small, light, long in stroke and capable of generating flexible driving force and a robot hand using it. SOLUTION: The actuator is constituted of a hollow elastic body to expand and contract by supply and discharge of pressure fluid to and from the inside of it and a lengthy body having a pressure fluid supply and discharge means to carry out supply and discharge of the pressure fluid to and from the hollow elastic body, a fixed end and a working end and a specified length part in the middle between the fixed end and the working end wrapped around an outer periphery of the hollow elastic body.
