PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ranking system which permits fair evaluation of the abilities of players in a match game or the like in which a pair among a plurality of participants play a match game. SOLUTION: The ranking system carries out a ranking process by a ranking program 123 as follows. Namely the system obtains the total of winning points of all opponents defeated (SB value) and the total of winning points of all opponents (Solkoff value) for all participants from data on the result of competition (opponents and wins or losses of each participant), ranks the participants in the order of values obtained by dividing the SB values by the Solkoff values. Thus by ranking the participants in consideration of what opponents the participants competed against, the system makes ranking reflecting more fairly the true abilities of the participants.
