PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color wheel whose rotation position can be optically detected by only a combination of color filters and a holder and to provide a spectral device using the color wheel. SOLUTION: A color wheel 10 includes a plurality of color filters 12A, 14A, and 16A disposed like concentric circles and a holder 18 located in the center of the concentric circles, and the holder 18 is formed like a C ring. In the spectral device including the color wheel 10, a motor for rotating the color wheel, and a rotation position detector, the rotation position detector detects difference in reflectivity between an upper face 18a of the holder 18 and an area D formed in a cut part of the holder 18 by color filters 16A to detect the rotation position of the color wheel 10.
