<p>The method involves determining whether an engine torque reduction control condition is satisfied when tip-in occurs during downshift control in a coasting state. An engine torque is limited by limiting a throttle opening through control of an electronic throttle control unit (50) when the control condition is satisfied. The engine torque limitation is released by gradually increasing the limited torque for a preset period. An independent claim is also included for a system for reducing tip-in shock in an automatic transmission.</p> |
