<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus enabling a user to perform setting fit to his (her) use purpose according as print waiting time is prioritized or power consumption and power rates at standby time is prioritized, and to improve user's consciousness of energy saving. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is constituted of an operation means for inputting and displaying power consumption at the standby time of the image forming apparatus, a standby-time temperature calculation means for calculating the temperature at the standby time of a fixing means from the power consumption inputted by the operation means, and a fixing control means for controlling the fixing means at the standby temperature calculated by the standby-time temperature calculation means, and is constituted of a 2nd operation means for inputting and displaying power rates and a unit cost of the power rates at the standby time of the image forming apparatus, a 2nd standby-time temperature calculation means for calculating the temperature at the standby time of the fixing means from the power rates and the unit cost of the power rates at the standby time inputted by the operation means, and a fixing control means for controlling the fixing means at the standby temperature calculated by the standby-time temperature calculation means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
