PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal excavation tip position measuring apparatus capable of accurately measuring the position of the tip of underground horizontal excavation, in excavation of a horizontal system having a relatively small diameter. SOLUTION: The horizontal excavation tip position measuring apparatus is provided with a target unit 3; a link 4 supported at the target unit 3 via a link support mechanism and having a prescribed link length; a measuring device comprising a measuring unit 5, supported at the rear end of the link 4 via the link support mechanism; and an elastically deformable sleeve pipe in which the target unit 3, the link 4, and the measuring unit 5 are built and which is to be mounted on the rear end of the excavator 1. Every time the amount of excavation by the excavator 1 reaches the link length, the measuring unit 5 converts the angle of the link 3, extending between two points at the center of the sleeve pipe 2, into coordinates with the bearing angles as the reference and the direction of the gravitational acceleration and determines the position of each point of the sleeve pipe.
