PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external control type fan coupling device having no restriction in layout in positional relation of an electromagnetic coil and a valve member, capable of simplifying a case and a valve structure and preventing oil leakage and magnetism leakage, and having excellent general-purpose property of a system. SOLUTION: This fan coupling device is constituted by dividing the inside of a sealed vessel box supported on a rotary shaft to which a driving disc is fixed into an oil storage chamber and a torque transmission chamber incorporating the driving disc by a partition plate, transmitting driving torque to a driven side by oil supplied into the torque transmission chamber, and opening, closing, and controlling a flow passage of oil by the valve member operated by an actuator. This device is provided with a permanent magnet fixed to the outside, an electromagnetic coil fixed to a coupling device side and opposing to the permanent magnet to drive the actuator by electric power generated in the electromagnetic coil, and an ON/OFF switch for operating and stopping the actuator.
