PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording/reproducing device capable of continuously performing a deletion editing operation without resetting a current reproducing position during the reproduction of recorded data stream, and without stopping the reproducing operation to reenter the editing operation from a menu, and without designating a deletion starting or finishing point. SOLUTION: The information recording/reproducing device having the function of editing a data stream recorded in a recording medium is provided with an operation means (1001) for operating various operations, and a control means (1100) for deleting from the head of the data stream to the deletion operation to the deletion operation by the deletion operation of the operation means 1001 during the reproduction of the data stream.
