PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance of a transducer array while suppressing to a minimum system dimensions, complexity and interconnection length. SOLUTION: A tile-shaped large area transducer array (10) comprises: a plurality of transducers (18) disposed on a front face (14) of a substrate (12) and patterned, in the form of a two-dimensional transducer array, on an XY plane; and a plurality of connectors electrically coupled to the transducer elements (18). The present invention further includes a laminated transducer array (46) comprising: an electronic apparatus (48) disposed in a first layer; the substrate (12) including the front face (14) and a back face (16); an electrical interconnection layer disposed in the substrate (12); and the plurality of transducers (18) disposed in a third layer and electrically coupled to the electronic apparatus (48) disposed in the first layer.
