PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color noise reduction method, a color noise reduction device and a color solid-state imaging apparatus with little color noise. SOLUTION: The boundary line of an image area where the change of lightness signals is large is extracted from the lightness signals Y by an inclination detection function 1 and a ridge line detection function 2, and color difference signals are smoothed for each image area in two-dimensional LPFs 3 and 4. Color difference error signals for which inputted color difference signals are subtracted from the smoothed color difference signals are generated in subtractors 5 and 6. Nonlinear circuits 7 and 8 maintain amplitudes of the color difference error signals when they are small and reduce the amplitude when amplitudes of the color difference error signals are at or above prescribed levels. Since the smoothed color difference signals are outputted from adders 9 and 10 when the amplitudes of the color difference error signals are small, the color noise is reduced. Since the inputted color difference signals are outputted at a part where the amplitudes of the color difference error signals are large and there is a difference in colors, color blotting does not occur.
