In a fuel supply system for supplying a fuel receiver 12 continuously with gas free liquid fuel, from a fuel source (not shown) disposed below the fuel receiver and comprising a fuel line circuit 18, 22, 28, 44, extending from and returning to the source of fuel and a fuel pump 16 for circulating the fuel through the fuel line, the fuel line circuit extends to a point well above the fuel receiver and a fuel conduit 48 extends from an upper portion of the circuit above the fuel receiver downwardly to the fuel receiver, the fuel conduit having a cross-section of passage large enough to permit rising of any gas contained in the fuel during the largest flow of fuel occuring in the fuel conduit. As shown the fuel receiver 12 is an injection pump supplying fuel through the fuel injection lines 14 to a diesel engine. The system includes a primary filter 24, a secondary filter 26 and a pressure relief valve 40.</p> |
