PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door device having a frame function, which enhances a decorative effect by an ornamental object decorated on a wall surface, and brings about a simple and neat appearance of the entire wall surface, to thereby improve the design of a wall. SOLUTION: The sliding door device (1) is constructed such that an opening section (4) formed in the wall (2) is opened by drawing a sliding door (5) arranged in the opening section (4) to a right direction or a left direction. Then the ornamental object (25) is set on the wall surface on a rear side of the sliding door (5), and therefore when the opening section (4) is opened, a person at a location correctly opposite to the sliding door (5) can view the ornamental object (25) enclosed by part of the sliding door (5) serving as the case.
