1,127,554. Glass-ware forming machine detail. EMHART CORP. 20 July, 1967 [3 Aug., 1966], No. 33320/67. Heading C1M. A part, e.g. a funnel, 14 coacting with a-glassworking mould 18 is. moved into and out of operative position by a fluid motor 10 having a piston 20 coupled to a piston-rod 12 by a cam follower 32 engaging a helical cam groove 34 in the piston. By this means the piston-rod is rotated whilst the piston descends and further movement of the piston causes an axial movement of the piston rod when surfaces 38, 39 abut and a. roller 40 then. engages an axial slot 42 in the piston 20. By this means the funnel moves in two separate planes and: not with a generally helical movement. The inlet ports of the cylinder are arranged progressively to open sothat the movement commences and finishesslowly. The invention is particularly applicable to a Hartford I.S. machine and for double gob operations. |
