PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal device capable of backing up data without troubling a user, and a data backup method therefor. SOLUTION: A falling detection part 11 transmits, upon detecting falling of a cellular phone 10, a falling detection signal to a data transfer control part 12. The data transfer control part 12 instructs, upon receiving the falling detection signal, data transfer to an internal memory.
