PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a tip from dropping out from a band saw plate by detachably and firmly fitting and locking the tip to the band saw plate, and easily and quickly perform the grinding of the band saw tip by mounting the tip on a disc shape grinding substrate and grinding it. SOLUTION: A saw-tooth shape blade base (3) is formed on the one side of the band saw plate (2) at a predetermined pitch in the longitudinal direction, an engaging slit (4) extending toward the other side part of the band saw plate (2) is formed on each blade base (3), fitting grooves (6, 7) are formed on the front and rear surface parts in the advancing direction of the tip (5), and the tip (5) is insertably fitted to the engaging slit (4) through respective fitting grooves (6, 7). The tip (5) is fitted and locked to a second engaging slit (13) formed on a disc shape grinding substrate (10), and the tip (5) is ground by rotating the grinding substrate (10).
