PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce waste caused by structural overlap of a lash adjuster and a cylinder head for mounting the lash adjuster to reduce the weight of the overlapped portion, and to simplify the portion by reducing the number of components. SOLUTION: This lash adjuster is formed of a plunger 40 of which tip portion abuts on a rocker arm 50 and a body formed integrally with a mounting part 21 of the cylinder head 9. Therefore, the mounting part 22 has a function as a body of the lash adjuster housing a base end portion of the plunger 40, in addition to the original function of the mounting part 22 for mounting the lash adjuster to the cylinder head 9.
