The electrical supply system comprises divider leads (1), electrical leads (4, 5, 6, 8) and light sources (9). There is a multi-faceted mounting box (7) built in between the light sources and the divider leads. The mounting box has hooks (12) for hanging branches. The mounting box and the light sources may form a unit, whilst the electrical leads (5, 6) may be built as a spiral cable. The spiral cable may have mounts (11) which may be straight or be angled-shaped. The numerous divider leads may be divided over the entire height of the tree and electrically connected over one another via cable (5). The divider leads may be fixed to the tree stem via hook and loop fasteners.
