<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a processing burden by conducting an image identifying process by turns from the image with higher importance to be necessary for an adaptive cruise control of an own car or the like with regard to a photography image of a front side of the own car. <P>SOLUTION: An area of each target included in the photography image of the front side of the own car is detected from a radar-search result of the front side of the own car, the image with a high priority is selected in order of one to be close to a presumptive path of the own car predicted from a cruise state of the own car and by turns from one to be close to the own car in regard to the image of each area, the image identifying process is conducted selecting by turns from one with the higher importance (degree of observation) without conducting the identification process to the image in all areas by deciding the priority of the image identifying process, the processing burden is reduced, and the image identifying process is achieved in a short time and at a high speed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
