<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein a user who is handicapped and hardly operates equipment, or a user who has difficulty in speaking can not set the equipment by an existent speech recognizing means and can hardly use the equipment. <P>SOLUTION: As for an image forming apparatus equipped with speech recognizing and synthesizing functions, the multihandicapped, for example, a user who is physically handicapped and also has difficulty in speaking is unable to operate the apparatus through normal speech recognition. The present idea enables such a user who has difficulty in speaker to use the apparatus by using speech recognition. This image forming apparatus has both a function of storing a plurality of combination patterns of monosyllables and a function of allocating apparatus settings to the patterns. Consequently, a user who is unable to use a console panel by touching for some reason and has difficulty in speaking is enabled to use the functions of the apparatus by combinations of monosyllables that the user generates. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
