PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately display various kinds of information on a screen, in a foldable portable terminal apparatus, in accordance with a state of the portable terminal apparatus. SOLUTION: In a portable terminal apparatus, an operation unit side casing with operating keys disposed on its front surface part and a display unit side casing are linked through a hinge mechanism, and the operation unit side casing and the display unit side casing can be folded while mutually confronting the front surface part of the operation unit side casing and a front surface part of the display unit side casing. In such a portable terminal apparatus, a first display means capable of displaying various kinds of information is disposed on the front surface part of the display unit side casing, and a second display means capable of displaying various kinds of information is disposed also on a rear surface part of the operation unit side casing. By controlling operations of the first display means and the second display means, various kinds of information can be appropriately displayed on the first display means and the second display means in accordance with the state of the portable terminal apparatus.
