PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the reading setup of a scanner unit by means of the HTML indication displayed on a browser, to designate a storage location of a scanned image and to transmit the document to a Web storage server without the need for installing a particular application to an MFP device under an environment wherein the MFP device with a browser function and the Web storage server are interconnected via a LAN or the Internet. SOLUTION: The document registration system under the environment wherein the MFP device with the browser function and the Web storage server are interconnected via the LAN/the Internet includes: a means for displaying a browser on the MFP device; a means for designating a storage location of the scanned document in the Web storage server; a means that registers in advance the information of the scanner unit of the MFP device to the Web storage server and informs the Web storage server about the state of the scanner unit when the user carries out scanning so as to form a scanning setting menu depending on the information and the state of the scanner unit; and a means for executing the scanning in response to the setting contents set by the user and transmitting the result to the Web storage server.
