PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for protecting motor of a hermetic electric compressor of high productivity and low cost. SOLUTION: In this invention, a substantially cylinderical main body 105 comprises a motor protector 104 provided with an arm 107 having a hook-shaped claw 106 on an end surface thereof and a locking projection 110 having taper parts 108, 109 inclined in mutually opposite direction in relation to an insertion direction, and a bracket 103 formed of a locking part 111 fixed on an outside of the hermetic electric compressor and corresponding to the claw 106 to lock it and an insertion part 113 having a locking hole 112 corresponding to the projection 110 to lock it. The claw 106 is engaged with the locking part 111 and the projection 110 is pressed on and locked to the locking hole 112 using the locking part 111 as a fulcrum to fix the motor protector 104 on the hermetic electric compressor. Components such as a spring clip is not necessary to reduce cost and the motor protector can be installed and fixed by one touch. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
