PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety box improving a safety by preventing the unexpected releasing of a key lock, reducing welding sections and decreasing mandays on a working and being composed of a box-shaped body being thin and lightweight, being not deformed and having a high rigidity and a manufacturing method for the safety box. SOLUTION: In the safety box, the upper end sections of both side plates are bent inwards and a guide rail with a groove section is formed in a main-body box. In such a safety box, both side sections are bent outwards and fitting sections are formed in a sliding cover, and the fitting sections are fitted slidably into the groove section of the guide rail. In such a safety box, the top-face plate of the sliding cover is fitted slidably into a cover section and the opening section of the main-body box can be opened and closed while an opening between the cover section of the main-body box and the top-face plate of the sliding cover is opened to the front side.
