PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording device capable of processing defects on an optical recording medium optimally. SOLUTION: An optical recording device concerned with the present invention is equipped with; an optical reading part which reads out data from an optical disk; a defect detecting part which is equipped with an adding-up part which detects the defective area of the disk and outputs a defection signal and counts the number of errors generated in the ECC (Error Correction Code) block of data, and a comparator part which compares the number of the generated errors with a critical value; and a data recording part which re-records the data in a defective area in another area of the disk when the number of the generated errors exceeds the critical value.
