PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically set the effective positions (stage positions) of yarn breakage sensors corresponding to an installed yarn supplying body in a creel device. SOLUTION: This creel device 1 comprises the yarn breakage sensors 9 for each of support members 3a for supporting the yarn supplying bodies 2 arranged parallel with each other in stage/row directions. A yarn 4 is pulled from the yarn supply body 2 installed on the support member 3a to a reel device 7. A controller 11 receiving signals from the yarn breakage sensor 9 in the corresponding row is connected to a central processing device 12. Before the device is operated continuously, all of the yarn breakage sensors 9 are brought into an operating state, and the reel device 7 is operated at a prescribed speed to pull the yarn 4 from the yarn supply device 2. Based on output signals from the yarn breakage sensors 9, the stage position of the yarn breakage sensor detecting the pullout of the yarn 4 among the plurality of yarn breakage sensors corresponding to the controllers 11 is stored in the controller 11 in that row.
