PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article facilitating a positioning when being fixed to shorts or the like, accurately disposed in an appropriate position and preventing the shorts or the like from being stained with excretory fluid. SOLUTION: This absorbent article 1 comprises a body part 2 having a fluid retaining layer and a leakproof layer, and a transparent or translucent circumferential part 5 surrounding the body part 2. The circumferential part 5 is preferably formed of a leakproof sheet. A skin non-abutment face of the body part 2 is preferably formed with an adhesive part extending from the circumferential edge of the body part 2 to the circumferential part 5.
