The seat has a longitudinally adjustable seating part and a backrest whose upper area is connected with a chassis by a linkage. The linkage enables an automatic tracking of the backrest during adjusting of the seat part. The linkage is a locking bracket (9) cooperating with a releasable bolting device (8). The bracket is pivotably supported within area of its ends, facing the bolting device, around a horizontal swivel axis.
