A filling machine and filling monitoring method in which conditions of a pressure roller can be monitored to prevent degradation in quality of fluid food. The filling machine has a first rotation body rotatably installed inside a mating face of a longitudinal seal section of a wrap material (11) conveyed; a second rotation body rotatably installed, faced to the first rotation body with the wrap material (11) held between the rotation bodies; a rotation detection signal generation section for generating a rotation detection signal as at least either of the first and second rotation bodies rotates; and a monitor processing section for reading the rotation detection signal to detect a rotation failure of at least either of the first and second rotation bodies. Since a rotation failure of at least either of the first and second rotation bodies is detected based on a rotation detection signal, inner peripheral surfaces of the wrap material (11), strip tape, etc. are not damaged and a pasted resin does not fall in the wrap material (11) to degrade the quality of fluid food. |
