<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology used in a system for realizing synchronous multiplexing access, employing an incoherent synchronous OCDM for expressing (1, 0) of a unipolar code by ON/OFF switching of optical pulse, whereby the receiver side of receiving transmission using a spread code can distinguish when a bit "0" is received, using the spread code when there is no transmission signal using the spread code. <P>SOLUTION: In the case of modulating light of a light source by the spread code, a transmitter 101 modulates the light, in such a way that the ON/OFF pattern of the modulated light is inverted between the case of a data bit going to be transmitted is "1" and the case of the data bit about to be transmitted is "0", and then transmits the resulting data; and when a receiver 109 inversely modulates the received light by using an inverse spread code, the receiver 109 obtains a value related to a sum of the intensity of the received light when the inverse spread code is "1" and a value related to the sum of the intensity of the received light, when the inverse spread code is "0" so as to discriminate whether the bit of the received data is "1" or "0", or whether no transmission signal is received. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
