<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochamical element in which inner resistance is low and which has a superior charge/discharge cycle characteristic by improving immersion property of electrolyte to an electrode. <P>SOLUTION: At least a positive electrode 11 or a negative electrode 12 is formed with activated carbon as a principal component. A separator 13 is sandwiched between the positive electrode 11 and the negative electrode 12. Electrolyte composed of alkaline water solution is immersed in the positive electrode 11, the negative electrode 12, and the separator 13. A charge is transferred between the positive electrode 11 and the negative electrode 12. Surfactant forming an adsorption film for promoting immersion of electrolyte is added on surfaces of the positive electrode 11, the negative electrode 12, and the separator 13. Surfactant is composed of 4th class phosphonium salt, such as tetraethyl phosphonium bromide. Thus, the electrochemical element with low inner resistance is obtained and the charge/discharge cycle characteristic is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
