PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effect the downsizing of a gasification tank and a gas/liquid separator through quick gas/liquid separation even in case the inside of the gasification tank is at high pressures. SOLUTION: A method for splitting a natural gas hydrate is provided, comprising the following process: While agitating the hot water b in the gasification tank 1 by an agitator 2, the hot water b is charged with a natural gas hydrate(a) to split it under heating, and a mixed liquid d of natural gas(a') thus regasified and the hot water b is fed to the cyclone-type gas/liquid separator 70. The mixed liquid d is separated into the natural gas(a') and the hot water b by making use of centrifugal force imparted by the separator 70. Thereafter, the natural gas(a') is supplied to demanders including a gas turbine-type electric generator, while the hot water b freed from the natural gas is heated by a circulating water heater 3 and supplied to the gasification tank 1.
