PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braking device which has a simple construction and a low cost, easy to adjust braking force, and relatively insensitive to change in temperature as compared with viscous fluid. SOLUTION: In drive transmission configuration which is stationarily mounted to a movable member and which includes a driving transmission member, a first pulley member connected directly to the driving transmission member or via other driving transmission means and at least one other pulley member which rotates in the same direction as the first pulley member and is connected to either of the driving transmission member or the driving transmission means, the braking device is configured so as to extend at least one endless belt member between the first pulley member and the other pulley member with a predetermined tensile force.
