PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which prevents an ink from getting separated from a recording medium due to a spur and prevent the ink from getting retransferred to the recording medium. SOLUTION: The image forming device has a means to transfer a sheet material and an image forming section to form an image on a sheet by discharging ink droplets to the sheet material in a transfer process and is provided with a restraining means located on the downstream side of the transfer direction of the sheet material, contacting the image forming surface of the sheet material and to apply a restraining force to the posture of the sheet material in transferring the sheet material and a release agent application means to apply a release agent to prevent the sheet material contacting section of the restraining means from adhering to an ink component. Furthermore, a cleaning member capable of wiping attachment adhered to the sheet material contacting portion of the restraining means may be provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
