PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recorder for recording an image by operating a recording head capable of ejecting ink from a plurality of ejection openings a plurality of times in the same area on a recording medium and having a function for stopping recording operation temporarily in which image defect due to print interruption is suppressed and a high quality image can be printed while taking account of poor nozzle state. SOLUTION: The ink jet recorder can make a selection whether interruption of processing is introduced or not during print interruption, and can set whether rear end processing is performed or not depending on the type of media or the print mode.
