PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To omit a stage replacing time and labor by bidirectionally cutting a sheet material at one position and to reduce an installation space and an equipment investment cost. SOLUTION: This bidirectional cutter is equipped with a conveyor 3 for feeding the sheet material W to a cutting position 3a, a first moving stand 4 for moving the upper part of the sheet material at the cutting position in an X-axis direction (first direction), the first cutting means 5 provided on the first moving stand to cut the sheet material at the cutting position in the X-axis direction, the second moving stand 6 provided to the first moving stand in order to move the upper part of the sheet material at the cutting position in a Y-axis direction (second direction), the second cutting means 7 provided to the second moving stand to cut the sheet material at the cutting position in the Y-axis direction, a first holding means 8 for holding the sheet material on the conveyor when the sheet material is cut in the X-axis direction by the first cutting means and a second holding means for holding the sheet material on the conveyor when the sheet material is cut in the Y-axis direction by the second cutting means.
