PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply producing a porous membrane constituted with a polymethylpentene-based resin. SOLUTION: This dope containing (A) an olefin-based resin containing a methylpentene unit and (B) a good solvent of the olefin-based resin (A), and (C) a poor solvent of the olefin-based resin (A) having a higher boiling point than that of the good solvent (B) is prepared. In the dope, the boiling point (TB) of the good solvent (B) is approximately 35-160°C, and the boiling point (TC) of the poor solvent (C) may be approximately 45-300°C. As to the combination of the both solvents, e.g. it is preferable that the good solvent (B) contains at least a hydrocarbon, and the poor solvent (C) is an ether.
