METHOD OF PRETREATING SPECIMEN AND IMMUNOASSAY METHOD USING THE SAME

It is intended to provide a method of pretreating a specimen in an immunoassay method which makes a nasal secretion-origin specimen usable in the assay while preventing nonspecific reactions. Namely, the nasal secretion-origin specimen is preliminarily treated with a protease and then the immunoassay is carried out. As the protease, it is preferable to use semialkali protease (EC 3.4.21.63). It is also preferable that the subject of the pretreatment method as described above is an influenza virus in the nasal secretion-origin specimen. The immunoassay method is preferably an immune aggregation method, for example, the immune nephelometry, the latex immune nephelometry, the latex aggregation method on a slide glass plate, etc.
