<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the influence of an external light source in taking the photograph of a biometric device. <P>SOLUTION: An image acquisition section 3 irradiates a subject with a red illumination light, and takes this subject's reflected image. A color element resolving section 4 decomposes the reflected image into an R (red) element superposed on the return light of the outdoor daylight element which is in agreement with the return light of the illumination light with this illumination light, a G (green) element and a B (blue) element other than the illumination light image element. A color element arithmetic operation section 5 calculates the operation image element obtained by the multiplication of the predetermined coefficient to the G (green) element and the B (blue) element, subtracts from the R (red) element, and forms the authentication request image.
