<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect resolution of image data to be automatically inputted and to perform image correction appropriate to the resolution in an automatic image correction circuit for correcting images automatically. <P>SOLUTION: The automatic image correction circuit acquires the image data, such as a still image or moving image, and automatically performs image correction to the image data. The circuit has a resolution detection means for detecting the resolution of the acquired image data, that is, a horizontal direction resolution and vertical direction resolution. In the resolution detection means, the resolution can be detected by a clock signal and data enable signal of the image data. Also, the automatic correction circuit has a set value calculation means. The set value calculation means can calculate a set value to be used in performing image correction from the resolution detected by the resolution detection means.
