PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape memory alloy having excellent durability even in application where a working speed is high and a working range is wide, or to provide an actuator using the shape memory alloy. SOLUTION: The temperature of shape memorization heat treatment is controlled to 570°C, thus an NiTiCu shape memory alloy wire whose dislocation density is regulated to the order of 10<SP>12</SP>pieces/cm<SP>2</SP>is produced. Then, an actuator of driving the body to be driven by the extraction/construction of the NiTiCu shape memory alloy wire is produced, and is applied to a driving device such as a correction optical device.
