PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molding method of an optical element of high precision such as a lens or the like made of a resin by injection molding, and the optical element. SOLUTION: First, the optical element (first optical element) is molded using a temporary mirror surface piece 4 (S01). Next, the temperature of the first optical element is leveled in a high temperature tank with a temperature of 60°C (S02) and the surface shape error of the first optical element is subsequently measured (S03) to perform the correction processing of the temporary mirror surface piece 4 in the setting-off direction of the obtained surface shape error (S04). Subsequently, an optical element (second optical element) is molded using a corrected mirror surface piece 17 obtained by the correction processing of the temporary mirror surface piece 4 (S05) and the temperature of the second optical element is leveled to evaluate the second optical element (S06). In this treatment process, the temperature leveling of the second optical element is performed under the same condition as the first optical element 15 and the optical surface shape of the second optical element is measured under the same condition as the first optical element in the same way to evaluate the degree of the shape error of the second optical element.
