PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color toner for flash fixing having such high infrared absorption capacity that it can be fixed by a flash fixing system, free of the trouble of color stain by an infrared absorbing agent, and providing a high-definition image having a large color gamut, and also to provide an image forming method using the color toner. SOLUTION: The color toner for flash fixing includes at least a binder resin, a colorant, an infrared absorbing agent and a fluorescent brightening agent, wherein the infrared absorbing agent has at least one or more light absorption peaks in the wavelength range of 750-2,000 nm and the fluorescent brightening agent has an emission peak of fluorescence in the wavelength range of 350-500 nm.
